Deleting your account

You can delete your Redpen account yourself, from inside the app. It takes a few seconds and there is nothing to request from us and nothing to wait for.

How

1. Open the Redpen app and sign in, if you are not already.
2. On the home screen, tap Your account.
3. Tap Delete my account.
4. Type your email address to confirm, then tap Delete everything.

If you have uninstalled the app, install it again and sign in with the same email address — we will send you a code — then follow the steps above.

What is deleted

Everything attached to the account, immediately and permanently:

• your account, your email address and your name
• every script you have photographed, and the photographs themselves
• all marking, annotated scripts and reports produced from them
• any corrections you made, and anything Redpen learned from them
• your credit balance and your record of charges
• any unused sign-in codes for your email address

What this means

It cannot be undone. We keep no copy and there is no way for us to restore an account once it has been deleted, so download anything you want to keep before you start.

Any credit left on the account is lost. Deleting an account is not a cancellation request and does not by itself refund anything.

Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis and any trace of a deleted account is gone from them within 30 days. Nothing is read from a backup in the meantime.

Where the law requires us to keep a record of a transaction, we keep that record and nothing else — no scripts, no marking, no photographs.
